08.02.2024
The period for the submission of personal income tax returns will open on 15 February. Income for 2023 can be declared to the Tax and Customs Board until 30 April 2024.
Natural persons are entitled to deduct from their total income for 2023 the interest on an apartment or home loan or leasing taken out in order to purchase the home in which they live. This year is the last time said tax break can be used.
Certification of the amount of interest paid, otherwise known as an interest certificate, can be forwarded to the Tax and Customs Board from Coop Pank’s Internet bank. To do this, simply click on ‘Loans and leasing’ and then ‘Submit interest certificate to Tax Board’. If you require a paper copy of the certificate, contact customer support or go to your nearest branch.
The details of the interest on your home loan should, if possible, be submitted to the Tax and Customs Board before you lodge your tax return. This will ensure that the relevant fields are already filled in on your form when you set about completing it.
Coop Pank will be enabling its clients to transmit data to the Tax and Customs Board until 30 September 2024. This way, anyone who for some reason did not submit their home loan interest details or tax return on time will also be able to make use of the service.
The general basic exemption, home loan interest, training costs, donations and additional contributions to funded pensions can all be deducted from an individual’s total income. More information about tax breaks can be found on the Tax and Customs Board website.
