To mark Reservists’ Week, Coop Pank is extending the benefits of its Home Defender Loan to all reservists throughout June. The offer includes a lower interest margin, reimbursement of property valuation costs and compensation for loan insurance premiums.
“Reservists play a vital role in safeguarding Estonia’s national security and defence capabilities. In recognition of their contribution, we have decided to offer them the opportunity to purchase a new home or renovate their existing one on more favourable terms,” said Karin Ossipova, Head of Home Loans at Coop Pank.
Under the offer, reservists can apply for a home loan with an interest margin starting from 1.49%, plus six-month Euribor. They will also benefit from the Home Defender Loan’s other advantages, including up to two years of payment holidays for both principal and interest, no contract fee and the option to repay the loan early without additional charges. In addition, the bank will reimburse property valuation costs of up to €250 and loan insurance premiums of up to €100 during the first year.
In recent years, Coop Pank has introduced preferential home loan products for professionals working in sectors essential to society. Since 2024, the bank has offered special home loan terms to employees in the education sector, and since 2025 these have also been available to rescue workers, police officers, members of the Defence Forces and the Estonian Defence League.
Home Defender Loans and teacher home loans have accounted for nearly 15% of all home loans issued by Coop Pank in 2025 and 2026.
The Home Defender Loan can be used to purchase, build or renovate a home, as well as to refinance an existing home loan. Borrowers may also combine the loan with a housing loan guarantee provided by the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency (EIS). Those purchasing or renovating a home in a rural area may additionally be eligible for a co-financing loan from the Rural Development Foundation (MES). Both schemes are designed to help borrowers who have limited funds available for a deposit.
Coop Pank has long been a supporter of Estonia’s national defence and was awarded the Gold Badge of National Defence Supporter in both 2024 and 2025. In 2024, the bank also launched the Kaardivägi programme, through which participating customers donate one cent from every card transaction to the Reservists’ Fund, with the bank matching every donation. To date, nearly 3,500 customers have joined the programme, and together they have contributed more than €45,000 to the fund over the past two years.
